Garden Truck - A food service inspired by off-campus student life style.
Business Model - Organizational Plan
Green Lunchbox is an idea inspired by the food truck business model. Food truck has several advantages that fit in this context, such as, mobility, relatively low investment needed, guaranteed freshness, quick turnovers and so on. According to my research two quarters ago, students in this building and also Montegomery Hall have very high demand of fresh food that is available 24/7, especially after midnights and during 30-min class breaks.
Having been in the same situation that people crave for healthy and easy-accessible food, we would like to promote this business idea in order to advocate healthy eating habit and provide a sustainable life style in the future.
This business model will be practiced through a cohesive plan including marketing, branding, problem reframing, green awareness promotion and health consultancy.
Green Lunchbox is committed to provide a mobile food service by delivery and food-truck based kiosk to create a healthy and handy food choice for students around SCAD buildings especially during class breaks and late nights.
To become students first food choice during school hours by providing slow-cooked food selected from various cuisines and delivery service strictly according to the scheduled time.
For SCAD students who have limited food choices during school hours because of their busy schedules, Green Lunchbox Mobile Food Service offers healthy, fresh food packed in environmental friendly packages and cooked with only fresh ingredients from local farms
This will be accomplished through “pre-order and delivery”, and also on-site sale in a food-truck-based kiosk around school building parking lot to guarantee our “fast, easy access and safe” motto.
Unlike other food delivery service provider, we aim to serve our students in a strict timely manner because we want them to enjoy their precious class breaks instead of rushing for food but end up in unhealthy fast food. This will be supported by a series of sub-service such as online pre-order system, order tracking and customization.
Today we have too many choices of food but actually too less choices around school building especially a college like SCAD, whose facilities are scattered all over the Savannah city. It’s been a problem for a majority of students to get easy access to food during their short breaks between classes and during their busy working schedules.
